Manufacturing cells reduce part costs and handling. In this cell, a metal blank is double drawn into a cylindrical shape using a multi-action press. The open end of the cylinder is trimmed and formed into a closed bead, ready for washing.

To help reduce part cost and handling, Vollrath often manufactures deep drawn shells by setting up multiple draw operations in adjacent presses.
